    The basis of the escomatic D5 CNC is identical with the one of the escomatic D2 CNC. Machine base, straightening unit, feed system and rotating tool head are absolutely identical with the D2.     Escomatic D2 Flex Speed, the fastest solution for precise and economic tuning up to 5.0 mm maximum diameter parts produced in large and medium lot sizes. Escomatic D5 Flex Speed, the D2 basic machine equipped in addition with a three stations end working unit with two spindles for drilling operations.

    The ESCO FLEX SPEED system allows machining to be optimised while guaranteeing an extremely high level of productivity. This increases the performance advantages of cam driven machines. Thanks to the electronic control system, the speed of the cam shaft can be programmed for specific areas. For example, the feed rate can be reduced for parting and increased for turning; this means that the slowest process no longer determines the overall cycle time. In addition the spindle speeds and the straightening speeds can be continuously adjusted (no more changing of pulleys). Due to FLEX SPEED the parameter of each operation can be optimised individually, resulting in a significant improvement in the quality of the parts produced.

    The escomatic D5 TWIN is equipped with an Affolter CNC System LESTE 10 with 8 axis (optional 10 with 2 C-axis).

    The turning operations are identical with the ones of an escomatic D2 CNC or D5 ULTRA. All basic tooling (set of straightening dies and holders, feed rollers and turning tools) are compatible with these machines.

    Secondary operations could be carried out with two identical units consisting of:

    • Two counter collets (or counter spindles with C-axis) which are mounted on two independent tables with cross slides.
    • Two back machining units which are equipped with two axial spindles for drilling, tapping or threading and one cross spindle.

      This configuration doubles the back machining operations and three parts are machined simultaneously. With a turning speed of 12’000 min-1 and 18’000 min-1 for Theo back machining, the D5 CNC TWIN is a real machine for very high volume production. The Affolter CNC control LESTE enables simplified and menu driven programming.

    The escomatic D5 CNC ULTRA is a new development based on the escomatic D2 CNC. In addition to the turning operations and based on the same principle well known by the users of the NM 64X, it is possible to machine the front and the back side of the part. On the front side drilling, tapping and threading is possible with three axially positioned spindles. After the cut-off of the part the back side can be machined simultaneously to the front side spindles and/or the turning operation by means of two axially and one laterally positioned spindles. With a tool head speed of 12‘000 min-1 and 18‘000 min-1 for the front and back working spindles this new machine offers the turning performance of a D2 CNC with ultra-performing secondary machining operations.

    The machine base is new and has been adapted to the space requirement of the new concept. The straightening unit, the material feed unit and the rotating tool head are absolutely identical with the D2. The counter collet and the system for the front machining with the three axially positioned spindles are mounted each on its own table with two CNC axes each.

    For the back machining two axially and one laterally mounted spindles are available. Simultaneous machining of the back side during the turning process and/or the front machining is possible.

    The tooling is the same as for the D2 CNC and except for the guide bush and the counter collet compatible with older cam driven escomatic D2 machines.

    The escomatic D5 CNC ULTRA is equipped with a FANUC 0i CNC control system, the programming is done in ISO codes.

    Unveiled on the 5th of October 2015 at the EMO in Milan, a new machine comes to complete the renewal of the escomatic products. This machine takes its place in the center of the Esco SA range between the DX CNC (escomatic D2 / D5 CNC, D5 Ultra, D5 TWIN) and the EC (escomatic EC 8). It will succeed the New Mach 64x range which has held a successful position for many years.

    The NM8 Flexi machine incorporates all the concepts of the NM6 Flexi machine that have made this lathe one of the most efficient products on the market.

    Thanks to the new design and to the use of two completely independent cross tables for the front and back machining units, the NM8 Flexi breaks the limits of flexibility and performance. Two parts can be manufactured at the same time: one part machined in the turning and front machining unit while the second part positioned in the counter spindle is undergoing back and side operations.

    To meet the constraints of machining larger diameters, we have developed the following specific elements:

    • New rotating tool head with material passage up to 8 mm
    • Two CNC axes for the management of turning tools, which allows to 2 cutting tools to work simultaneously
    • New material straightening device ensures high quality straightening up to 8 mm

    The escomatic EC 08, the logical and innovative sequence of the famous D6 series with CNC technology. This center of machining allows the economic machining of complex parts in small and large series up to a diameter of 8.0mm. Equipped with a four-tool chuck, two of which can work simultaneously, with up to 12 pick-up tools, this new cutting machine allows the use of cutting tools in the form of standard commercial pads.

    This versatile and flexible cutting center is equipped with a rotating tool head (10’000 rpm) with 4 independent cutting tools. Its principle makes it possible to machine 2 parts at the same time: one part in turning or frontal machining, another part in back take-up in the counter-spindle. This machine offers great flexibility thanks to the use of a new concept with front, rear and transverse recovery operations positioned on a single central unit. The feeding of the material is done by torches and rectifier or bar feeder to load bars.
