    heliX® measures conformational changes in real-time by directly comparing the hydrodynamic friction (switching speed) of two molecules on two adjacent sensor spots.

    Conformational changes are expressed as %-friction-change, which works for any protein or nucleic acid state in almost any environment. Hence, molecular conformations can be investigated early in the discovery process, without previous knowledge about a sample.

    Simply define your initial state and measure change. Anything may serve as a reference, for instance:

    • bare DNA nanolevers without attached proteins
    • the protein conformation before small molecule binding

With this data logger, a comprehensive routine control of steam sterilizers can be performed using an alternative Electronic Bowie Dick Test according to DIN EN ISO 11140-4. The EBI 16 delivers clear results during daily checks of the air evacuation test and steam penetration test according to DIN EN 17665 and DIN EN 285. The EBI 16 provides early identification of possible failures in steam-sterilizers. Even small quantities of residual air that doesn`t lead to a failed Bowie Dick Test yet, are detected. The EBI 16 allows a reasonable vacuum check also for sterilizers without pressure display according to DIN EN 285.
