Corning® SF Medium
SF Medium is based on a proprietary classical media formulation. This medium contains a mixture of select trace elements and high molecular weight carbohydrates, extra vitamins, animal-free protein, and a small amount of high quality bovine serum albumin (1.0 g/L). SF Medium supports superior growth and viability over long-term passages in hybridomas, as well as suspension and adherent cell cultures. This formulation contains L-glutamine.

Corning transfectagro Reduced Serum Medium is designed to maximize the growth of a variety of cell types under reduced serum conditions, generally allowing for at least a 50% reduction in serum use with minimal adaptation. transfectagro has also been proven to improve transient transfection efficiency in a variety of cell types. This is a chemically-defined, reduced serum formulation of Eagle’s Minimum Essential Medium for greater buffering capacity.

Corning® 500 mL Insectagro® Sf9 Serum-Free/Protein-Free Medium, 1X [+] L-glutamine
Corning insectagro Sf9 is formulated to support the propagation of Sf9 insect cells in culture, and can also be used for SF21 cells. The Sf9 cell line originated at the USDA Insect Pathology Laboratory from IPLBSF-21 cell line, derived from the pupal ovarian tissue of the fall army worm. Sf9 cells are cultured in non-humidified, non-CO2 incubators at 27ºC (room temperature) and display both monolayer and suspension culture qualities. With their fast doubling times of 10-22 hours, Sf9 cells are easily scaled up to large cultures using bioreactors. Sf9 is capable of expressing full-length proteins and have been reported to produce certain proteins up to 20% of the total protein.

Corning Insectagro DS2 Serum-Free/Protein-Free Medium was developed for the growth and maintenance of Drosophila Schneider 2 (S2) cells to be used in heterologous protein expression. At the optimal temperature range 22-24ºC, DS2 cells grow as a loose monolayer and are readily adaptable to growth in suspension. Under these conditions, the cells require minimal adaptation to serum-free culture.
