Portable X-ray diffractometer specially designed for residual stress and retained austenite measurements Xstress 3000 G3 is suitable for both laboratory and field use. It can be easily loaded, unloaded and carried by one person. It is self-contained and only requires a power supply. From the point at which it is unloaded to the moment it is ready to perform a measurement takes only ten minutes. Extensive use of embedded microprocessors, and communications between the main unit, goniometer, and computer with only one cable makes fast installation possible. Thanks to the implementation of the state of the art, patented, semiconductor detector technology, the measurement time on a typical steel sample is two minutes or less.

Residual stress and retained austenite measurements with Xstress Xstress Robot system consists of a robot goniometer with G3 tube holder attached conveniently to an easily movable carrier, X3003 main unit and XTronic software. Robot goniometer now handles the tasks previously made possible by an X-Y system and Floor stand. Xstress Robot includes everything needed for making residual stress or retained austenite measurements by X-ray diffraction. It is especially useful for making measurements on large and complicated parts or surfaces that cannot be moved easily otherwise. Instead of moving the location to be measured, the Xstress Robot system moves onto the measurement location with minimum efforts. Mapping within the robot’s reach is handled with the XTronic software, and when a measurement needs to be made further away, the whole Xstress Robot system can be moved to the new position.
