Moore Nanotechnology Systems was founded in Keene, NH in 1997 as a stand-alone subsidiary of Moore Tool Company. We are a global leader in the design, development and manufacture of state-of-the-art ultra-precision machine tools and associated processes (single point diamond turning, micro-milling, micro-grinding and glass press molding) for the production of advanced optical components in consumer electronics, defense, aerospace, lighting, medical and automotive sectors. We maintain an installed base of hundreds of Nanotech ultra-precision machining systems in more than 30 countries around the world and our business continues to grow year by year.

The C-axis motion control of the work spindle enables toric, biconic, and other freeform surfaces to be machined “on-axis” via our Slow Slide Servo (S3) process. Our Air Bearing Rotary B or removable Oil Hydrostatic Vertical Linear Y-axis can be configured independently on the Z-axis carriage for future added flexibility.

These are extra large capacity ultra-precision machining systems used for single point diamond turning advanced optical surfaces along the diameter of large generation drums. This machine accepts drums up to 650mm diameter and 3100mm long (between chuck faces) with a weight capacity of 1800 Kg (3000 Kg on HD version). Maximum optical cutting zone length is 2600mm.

    The machine features our latest advancements in “precision engineered” designs and components. These include ultra stiff oil hydrostatic bearing slide ways and state-of-the-art dual “iron-less” linear motor drives which eliminate any backlash or hysteresis in the axis motion. The base is designed for high damping, thermal compatibility with the slide components and for long life corrosion resistance against cutting fluids. It has been engineered as a single monolithic structure with an enclosed bridge to provide maximum structural stiffness both statically and dynamically in order to optimize complex roughing and finishing operations while achieving a much higher geometric accuracy.
